Ada Lovelace 10/12/1815 - 27/11/1852, was a British mathematician, computer scientist, writer and she is considered the first woman computer programer. In 1833 Ada met the mathematician Charles Babbage, who had designed a calculating machine called the Difference Engine. Babbage had a new project in mind, a much more advanced machine, the Analytical Engine, and Ada realized that the Analytical Engine could carry out an extensive sequence of mathematical operations. The example he wrote of one of those sequences was how to calculate Bernoulli's numbers, it is considered by computer historians to be the first computer program. She gave her name to the Ada programming language. Every year on the second Tuesday in October, the contributions of women to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are celebrated on Ada Lovelace Day.
